Rheumatism is caused by an accumulation of toxins such as uric acid in affected tissues. Toxins collect in these tissues due to insufficient elimination by the excretory system, especially the liver. Too much uric acid and urea is produced when the diet is high in protein and purines, as with a diet rich in animal products, especially red meat. The problem starts with pain in the muscles and later affects the joints, such as knees, wrists and fingers. In the beginning, the pain moves around and appears in ‘spells.’ It gradually becomes more intense and with time affects more parts of the body. Eventually rheumatoid arthritis develops, when uric acid inflames the cartilage of the joints. It causes pain, stiffness and partial/total immobility of the joints as the immune system attacks the toxic cells and destroys them. An attack of gout may occur at the onset, with sudden burning pain, stiffness, and swelling – usually in the big toe. Gout is caused by high levels of uric acid in the blood, leading to the formation and deposit of sharp, needle-like urate crystals in joints and surrounding tissue.
The development of rheumatism progresses in phases. It starts often as gout, caused by the deposit of urate crystals in the tissues, mostly the toes. The pain of gout can be felt in muscles as well. Affected parts, beside the toes, include the thighs, legs and sometimes the upper arm. Most often, rheumatism occurs in different places of the body, such as muscles and joints. After a while the pain moves to another joint or place. Often the most painful joint is in the limb that is used most, such as the fingers, or the shoulder of a hairdresser. The pain often settles in one or more joints, such as the knee, and is no longer moving around. This happens when the condition becomes chronic.
The remedies indicated for the treatment of these pains include Newton’s Detoxifier, taken every night before bedtime, and Rheumatic-Joint Care complex, taken daily before breakfast. The morning dose may be repeated if necessary during the day to fight the pain.
Our clients like these remedies. A teacher in Illinois wrote us a hand-written, three-page letter, explaining that she had been unable to write for quite some time because of excruciating pain in her fingers. After taking our remedies as explained above, she was now able to write letters again. Another woman from Alabama, who works in a store that sells our products, told us that she had stiff fingers for years that made it almost impossible for her to do her work. After being on our remedies for some time, she regained the mobility of her fingers and was able to do her work in a normal way again.
